Lauren Jane Redmond is a writer in Austin, Texas. She received a BA in English and Film Studies from the University of Tulsa and an MFA in Playwriting from Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.

Lauren was named the Winner of the WomenWorks National Playwriting Competition in 2014 for her one-act, At the End of the Line|Tunnel Vision. Her feminist monologue, Little Fs was selected for performance at Rutgers University as part of Lady Bits: Unsolicited Commentaries on Womanhood.

Her short play, Barred, has also been featured online at The Furious Gazelle Literary Magazine. Click here to read it.

Lauren's plays have received staged readings at Arena Stage and The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. She has worked as a scriptreader for both Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company and Shakespeare Theatre Company.

Her manuscript Jacob’s Well was named Winner of the 2023 Writer’s League of Texas Manuscript Contest in the mystery category.
